OR, BEING THE BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF.

Happy fresh start my birdies, I’m hoping I find you all invigorated and full of hope for another year of new battles and victories. For wonderful awe-inspiring new sights and smells, sounds, tastes and sensations? Join me for a quick run down on why I’ve been so quiet and my new plans.

GHASTLY DECEMBER.
I was sick for everything in December.

I projectile-vomited my way through every planned festivity, sobbing quietly alone on my sofa. If anything was to prove to me I’m as hard as nails December 2022 was. I lost ten kilos in the month and went from lithe and fit to emaciated and terribly, terribly weak and fragile.

What the hell was the matter I hear you say? I was mystified and cut out flour, eggs, dairy, and so forth. I finally have tracked it down to firstly stress, which triggered me not eating as well as usual due to lack of appetite, then more insidiously, one of my newly prescribed supplements.
I have been taking supplements for the last two years but have always been careful to source them without fillers and bulking agents. I have researched the highest quality ingredients and where necessary non-GMO and vegetarian (not because I’m not a meat eater but because I’ll have no part of gelatin anything). I realised the new ones I had been given from NHS contacts (for indeed they have a special book of NHS suppliers that the GPs have to adhere to) were making me sick. We seemingly have four potential villains which I will go into another time. For now, with me gathering strength I don’t want this to be bile and vitriol which has been coming out of both ends for long enough. I will explain all this in another post.
After seven months in Mexico in 2020 I’d had a vile inactive 2021.

This is about new beginnings and hope. This is about always knowing you can win through, this, my old birdies, is about energy and love and new plans after times of despair!
FRESH START FOR 2023: LISTS.

So, every year it’s important to have realistic goals and fresh ideas, build upon your regular stuff which is:
- No drinking
- No smoking
- Yoga every day
- Organic non-GMO and free-range everything!
- Meditate
- Travel
- Research

And add stuff, which for me this year is modest:
- Get the house in Turkiye
- Grow my own crops
- Learn Turkish
- Make a list of Turkish archaeological sites that I haven’t visited
- Research public transport to said places.
- Go to Bosnia to see their pyramid
- Research other historical sites near Turkiye
- Make a kiln
- Learn how to make Turkish specialities from my new neighbour who used to be a chef!
- Stop writing lists

Although this sounds nearly impossible I have been working behind the scenes on my secret second list. I located my idyllic place and will report back when final papers go through in mid- January so as not to hex it.

“NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS” ARE MEANT TO BE A ROUGH GUIDE!
For all of you who have high expectations, that is very good, however if occasionally you stumble or fall, or stray from your path of what you want to achieve, don’t fret, we all do that. The important bit is to get back on course and feel no guilt! Remember the mantra:
Je ne regrette rien!
