When I say bizarre it’s more of a tragedy really, a Spanish church plonked on the top of a huge pyramid, this with a full view of one of the local temperamental volcanoes, Popocatépetl or more easily known as ‘Popo’ and Iztaccihuatl or ‘Izta’. According to one Aztec Legend, Popo was a great warrior who loved Izta. He went off to war and when Izta heard false news of Popo’s fall in battle, she died of a broken heart. When Popo returned to find his love gone, he vowed to always watch over and defend her. The shape of Iztaccihuatl mountain is that of a ‘sleeping woman’. Although I had time to spare that first day and I never really fitted in to pretty old town Peubla, I did see that it was mostly the fact I was tired and dispirited by this time, and to be fair to me, most of the fucking place was closed.

COBA mexico and name that tree!
OR MY FABULOUS JOURNEY TO COBA JUST AN HOUR AND A HALF FROM TULUM.
Well what a surprise. Just an hour an a half up the road is Coba and a site that takes your breath away. As usual I had a total fiasco going there but I’ll get to that later. Coba is a jewel and as always it’s best to get there relatively early. I saw about fifty people around this very stretched out monumental site until I was leaving and then coach loads were coming in.
MANILA: START OF MY PHILIPPINES ADVENTURE.
I had arrived early morning after a dreadful day coming in from Bangkok., so had slept most of the day in crisp white sheets and black out blinds fully blacking me out. When finally I opened my peepers it was early evening so you can imagine my shock when I walked out on the streets I saw hard core bars with girls hanging around every corner.
