OR, MEXICO STEALS MY HEART.

I was in a very weary state when I arrived. I’d said goodbye to my pal in Antigua and stayed a night in a Guatemala City Airport hotel (very good btw the In and Out, magnificent gardens and beautiful clean simple modern rooms, free shuttle two minutes from airport.) Then I flew to Cancun and stayed in another airport hotel for my initiation night in Mexico prepping for the following days flight to Merida. (Comfort Inn which also was great and I snagged the empty roof terrace as my own!).
Or, I’ll add to this later AGAIN AND AGAIN!
OR AT LAST I HIT THE LA PLAYA!
I’ve been an industrious solo traveller, searching out pyramid complexes, museums, art galleries and general things of wonder across Mexico, so now is time for a little rest and a swim, little snorkel and a little sunbathe and a little good food and wine. My last beach had been Belize for the snorkelling, so I was due siesta days. This is the time to try and rest my foot (yeah that’ll never happen) and luxuriate in the beautiful Puerto Escondido, the surfers paradise.
