TOP TIP: My habit of always putting “old town or historic centre” had bitten me in the arse a few times. This terminology, “Historic centre”, includes and means a place where you will be raped and murdered in an alley and have everything stolen off your still warm corpse, but it also has a lovely church.

We were children on a train going to the seaside. The normal squabbles ensued about having refills and some pouting but all in all it was a lovely loud shouty train ride in our empty carriage.

Now in the time of this terrible Chinese virus, one wonders when tourists will again have access. I’m so glad I persevered in going there, for it is indeed a magnificent sight to see. I’m also glad I travelled so much in the last few years………………..
