OR MUSEUMS AND ART IN OAXACA

ALERT: FOR ALL ART LOVERS THIS IS ESSENTIALLY A PICTURE POST. IT REPRESENTS THE DIVERSE CERAMIC AND STONE ART ACROSS THE WHOLE PRE HISPANIC SPECTRUM. THIS WILL GIVE YOU AN IDEA BEFORE I POST THE MEXICO CITY ANTHROPOLOGICAL MUSEUMS WONDERS!
OR THE DRAMA AND LOVE AFFAIR WITH THE UNPRONOUNCEABLE.

OR, MEXICO STEALS MY HEART.

I was in a very weary state when I arrived. I’d said goodbye to my pal in Antigua and stayed a night in a Guatemala City Airport hotel (very good btw the In and Out, magnificent gardens and beautiful clean simple modern rooms, free shuttle two minutes from airport.) Then I flew to Cancun and stayed in another airport hotel for my initiation night in Mexico prepping for the following days flight to Merida. (Comfort Inn which also was great and I snagged the empty roof terrace as my own!).
Or, I’ll add to this later AGAIN AND AGAIN!
OR AT LAST I HIT THE LA PLAYA!
I’ve been an industrious solo traveller, searching out pyramid complexes, museums, art galleries and general things of wonder across Mexico, so now is time for a little rest and a swim, little snorkel and a little sunbathe and a little good food and wine. My last beach had been Belize for the snorkelling, so I was due siesta days. This is the time to try and rest my foot (yeah that’ll never happen) and luxuriate in the beautiful Puerto Escondido, the surfers paradise.

Last night sitting on my terrace with a very nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc I sulked, sighed and finally fetched my notebook. It eyed me, I eyed it and we started.
OR, I DIDN’T REALISE ALL THIS TIME I COULD BE OUT THERE SUPPORTING THEM.
Well blow me over with a feather. I have been a bit of a thicko. Every Sunday the Marylebone Farmers Market is open where you can buy organic and free range. It is a thing of wonder, supporting our chaps and having cheerful companionship while shopping. I mean you and all the folk there have food in common! What better than to chew the fat with foodies and get your seasonal untainted goodies.

or dangerous ferries, AND DIFFICULT AIRLINES
Although I always bang on about doing everything spontaneously and ‘on the hoof’ sometimes it has led to my down fall, or at least changing plans in a heart stopping, teeth gritting last minute. It’s bad for stress but also what to expect from time to time when travelling alone. You’ll get used to it for even though I’m warning you my old birds, You probably won’t listen, have forgotten or have ignored my advice.
